Welcome to Life That Shines!

A source of inspiration and a spark to ignite the flame of faith in your life. There are so many beautiful ways that the Lord blesses us. I want to share my journey to inspire you to choose to live a life that shines with His goodness.

Choosing to live a life that glorifies God has not always been easy. In fact, it was one of the last things on my priority list in the past. Life is hard enough and adding the obligation to live a certain way to please someone else seemed much too complicated…Or so I thought, until I took the plunge.

Have you ever met someone for the first time and could tell that there was something different about them? They just lit up the room or they had such a warm, inviting presence? As Christians we are called to be this way. We are called to live a life that embodies love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control. We are to live mirroring the fruit of the spirit. 

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

Galatians 5:22 – 23

Although I grew up in a moderately Christian home, once out of the house the desire to live this way was not on my radar. I knew the basic principles of Christianity and had one foot (more like one toe) still in that realm but the other was in college bars, dorm parties, ungodly relationships and the like.  It’s taken time, many mistakes, life experience, hardship and some heartache to make the decision to fully pursue the Lord and hand over my life plans to Him. I had never pictured myself writing, let alone discussing the topic of Christianity, but here we are.

I want to create a space for Christian women to find encouragement and community.

My hope is that my writing and life coaching will inspire you to seek God and His calling on your life as well as understand your identity as a daughter of the Most High. I also want to strengthen your faith by sharing my testimony that is weaved throughout my blog. The Lord faithfully called me out of the messes that I found myself in and continues to ever so gently align my heart towards His and this is what I want for you to experience as well.

There is no substitution for God’s Word. We must remain in the Word, in prayer and in worship to truly grow in our faith. My goal is to use my experiences to bring you encouragement and share the things that I have learned along my journey. I believe that we are never a finished product; that God is always showing us new things and bringing us to new places. I’m excited to grow together as we pursue a life that shines!
